Esso’s proposed Southampton to London pipeline route would lead to “substantial tree loss” in Farnborough’s Queen Elizabeth Park.

Trees cut down to clear a path through the park will only have to be replaced by “low-value scrub planting” on the land over the pipe, a Rushmoor Borough Council (RBC) report has revealed.

This is to allow Esso to be able to access the pipeline after it has been built.
