More than 500 riders enjoyed the autumn sunshine to take part in the Farnborough Flyer Cycle Sportive yesterday, which started and finished at the Village Hotel..

The event, now in its third year, saw riders chose to take part in either 20 mile, 50 mile or a 75 mile route which took them down to the Meon Valley and back.

Children aged between 6 and 14 also took part in a series of shorter races.

The not-for-profit event is organised by Rushmoor Borough Council and local cycling club VC Meudon, and is sponsored by Decathlon.

Thanks also go to Farnborough Business Park who gave us permission to close some local roads to enable the sportive and the children’s races to take place.

We apologise if any residents or visitors were inconvenienced by this.
